Strangely Beautiful Mix

mix

Here’s a mix of what we often play whenever we work on handmade stuff. Music keeps us inspired and imaginative. We wander through the world that only Hayao Miyazaki could make with the melancholic tunes of Joe HisaishiClub 8‘s Strangely Beautiful album also gave us an idea of making plushies that are out of the box. Say a bunny that doesn’t really look like one. Sheep that has deer’s antlers or cat’s ears. Who cares? As long as we make them cute and cuddly.

01. Ashitaka and San- Joe Hisaishi (Princess Mononoke OST)

02. Il Porco Rosso- Joe Hisaishi (Porco Rosso OST)

03. Oka Asan- Joe Hisaishi (My Neighbor Totoro OST)

04. You’re a Beautiful Loser- Acid House Kings

05. Stay By My Side- Club 8

06. Saturday Night Engine- Club 8

07. Undertow- Ivy

08. Honey & Clover

09. Butterfly- Tornado Tatsumaki

10. Still- Moscow Olympics

We are so proud of this cuddly buddy. Would you believe a Japanese couple who chanced upon us at Saturday Market, Escolta also got this plush design and we imagine them bringing it to Japan? How dreamy! Thanks again, Smart Parenting esp. to Ms. Steph Esguerra. The plushies we made for Heima Store were also featured on their April 2013 cover. Now, that’s overwhelming!

A collection of strangely beautiful plush animals either bunny or sheep or whatever you want them to be. We played with some fresh colors and soft fabrics we got and these came out of our wild imaginations (or maybe not so wild). Look at those fluffy ears and cute belly buttons! ACK!

And favorite guest!

Hagia-chan!

Hagia-chan- it was her first time to visit 10a Alabama and she loved the resident cat there.

It was another exciting fair and it’s always a pleasure to meet new faces as well as the familiar ones. Kidlat Tahimik also paid a visit to each booth though we didn’t have the chance to have a photo with him.

Hope many would shop again for the next and last fair for this year. It’s probably around November, we guess. Check out 10a Alabama on Facebook for announcements.

P.S.

Some photos turned out blurred. We posted them anyway :P.
